Inspired by Melbourne’s vibrant arts scene and the legendary Grampians big cat, this artwork pays homage to century-old folklore of a mythical feline roaming the Grampian Mountain ranges.
Standing at 15.4m high and 18.7m wide, Guardian Lion features a laser-cut aluminium structure illuminated by LED flex lighting, casting a mesmerizing spectrum of colors across the city skyline. Positioned on the southern podium wall of Melbourne Square’s residential towers, it will be an unmissable sight for those entering Melbourne via the Westgate Freeway or passing through Southbank and South Melbourne.
